Roots in the air.. Eating nitrogen.

This is an unique discovery. A type of corn has roots with are exposed to air, and with the help of bacteria extracts the inert nitrogen in air to get its daily dose of nitrogen.

Now, scientists are trying to genetically transfer this trait to other normal corn varieties.
